Telemedicine Visits

Gwinnett’s Progressive Healthcare for Women is now offering video-based telemedicine!

We want you to remain healthy, to stay home and still receive care. Telemedicine, also referred to as virtual visits, allows you to connect with your healthcare provider remotely over video and is a great alternative for visits that do not need a physical exam.

A variety of visits can be conducted effectively including problem visits, follow-up visits, lab and test result reviews, and medication questions and refills. See below for a complete list of telemedicine visits that we offer.

Are you interested in a virtual visit? Here are the steps to get started:

Step 1: Request your appointment online, in the Patient Portal or by calling the office by phone at 770-339-4000.

Step 2: You will need to have access to a tablet or mobile device with a built-in camera and microphone. You will also need to make sure you have internet or cellular data access.

How do I connect to the telemedicine app (MyWomanCare)?

It’s easy! Just follow the steps below after you’ve scheduled your video visit with our office.

Step 1: When you schedule a telemedicine visit, you will receive three (3) emails to remind you of your virtual visit and how to set up your MyWomanCare account using the app.

You will receive this within 1 to 2 minutes after scheduling your appointment.

  • Read the invitation completely
  • Write down the Username and Password (you will be able to change your password once you are logged in).
  • Download the app (MyWomanCare) to your mobile device using the Apple Store or Google Store depending on the type of device that you will be using for you visit.

  • Go to the app (MyWomanCare) and log in (See you need that username and password!)

  • Use the “play button/arrow” next to virtual visit to allow you to connect with the provider.
  • Go to video call.
  • Prepare for your appointment and pay co-pay as directed.
  • Start video call.
  • You will need to wait at this point until your provider is connected
Please Note: if this takes longer than 15 minutes please call our office to let them know you are having problems.

If you are disconnected during the call, simply re-login to the application.

Once you have completed your telemedicine visit you can hang up by hitting the phone icon.

If you need a follow up appointment, someone from our staff will contact you to schedule.

Will insurance pay for telemedicine?

According to the information that we have now, services rendered via telemedicine will be reimbursed through insurance plans at the same coverage as an in-person visit.  Co pays or co- insurance may be applicable.  It is always a good idea to check your benefits.

We would like to thank everyone for their cooperation during these uncertain times.  We need your help in working together to give the best care possible and to stop the spread of the virus.
